In accordance with The Constitution of the Bangladesh Association in Brisbane Inc. 2019, Section 18, Sub-sections 18.3.3 (Appointment of Election Commissioner) and 18.3.4 (Notification to all current members of BAB), we are pleased to inform you that Dr. Tarafder Shameem has been appointed as the Election Commissioner for the upcoming BAB Election 2026.
The details of the Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Election, in accordance with Section 17, Sub-section 17.2.2 of the Constitution, are as follows:

+++ Message from the Election Commissioner +++

Dear BAB Members,
I would like to sincerely thank the BAB Executive Committee 2025–2026 for entrusting me with the responsibility of serving as the Election Commissioner for the BAB Executive Committee Election 2026–2027.

The current BAB Executive Committee has confirmed that the election will be held on Saturday, 26 September 2026, as announced by BAB on 4 August 2026.
Pursuant to Clause 18.5.6(b) of the BAB Constitution 2019, I am pleased to announce the following schedule for the BAB Executive Committee Election 2026, for the 2026–2027 term:

• Nomination Form Submission Closes: Saturday, 12 September 2026
• Scrutiny of Nomination Forms: Sunday, 13 September & Monday, 14 September 2026
• Announcement of Candidates: Wednesday, 16 September 2026
• Election Day: Saturday, 26 September 2026

Membership Eligibility
The Census Date is Sunday, 6 September 2026. This is the final date for members to become financial for the current membership tenure of October 2025 to September 2026. Accordingly, only members who hold active BAB Financial Membership for the current tenure will be eligible to participate in the election as voters and/or candidates, subject to the requirements of the BAB Constitution 2019.

Election of Executive Committee Positions
I would also like to remind all members that, pursuant to Clause 11.2 of the BAB Constitution 2019, all seven (7) Executive Committee positions are to be filled individually, with candidates contesting each position independently.
Members are strongly encouraged to familiarise themselves with the BAB Constitution 2019 and the relevant election provisions before submitting a nomination or raising any questions regarding the election process.

Nomination and Proxy Forms
The Candidate Nomination Form is attached. Completed nomination forms should be submitted to me by email at shameem70@yahoo.com on or before the nomination submission deadline specified above. The Proxy Form may be submitted to me at any time between now and Election Day.
