Shajib Mushfiqur Rahman

Shajib was born and raised in Bangladesh, where he completed his graduation from North South University and built a strong foundation through several years of professional experience. In 2008, he moved to Australia in pursuit of new opportunities and a brighter future. Since then, he has continued to grow both personally and professionally, fully embracing the diverse and multicultural environment of his new home. Now living in Brisbane with his wife and two children, Shajib is a Chartered Accountant and works as a Finance Business Partner at the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry. He is deeply passionate about community service and over the last few years, has contributed to various subcommittees and the Executive Committee of Bangladeshi associations in Brisbane, actively participating in numerous community initiatives. Sports and travelling remain among his greatest interests, helping him maintain a balanced, engaging, and fulfilling lifestyle.

Aktaruzzaman Rasel

Aktaruzzaman Rasel was born and raised in Bangladesh and has called Australia home since 2002. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology (Network Engineering) from Deakin University in Melbourne and an MBA (Executive) from the Australian Institute of Business (AIB). With over 17 years of experience as a logistics professional in the Royal Australian Air Force, he has excelled in managing supply chain operations both domestically and internationally. His previous roles as a Deputy Director at the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations and the Australian Electoral Commission have reaffirmed his commitment to delivering logistics services that are both timely and compliant. He is recognised for his outstanding negotiation skills and strong commercial acumen. With a rich background in leadership and project management, along with a thorough understanding of emerging technologies, Aktaruzzaman currently operates his own business, Fully Promoted Springfield. Rasel is passionate about volunteering to support the community. Over the past few years, he has been part of various subcommittees and the Executive Committee within Bangladeshi Associations in Brisbane and has actively participated in numerous community activities. He is the founder of the Greater Springfield Muslim Society and is dedicated to showcasing the positive aspects of the Muslim community to the broader Australian society. As a veteran, he is a part of the executive team at the Greater Springfield RSL Subbranch, where he works to support veterans and improve RSL services. He is also recognised as a multicultural community leader at the Ipswich Multicultural Community Forum, where he addresses issues affecting diverse communities, including mental health, youth programs, and domestic violence workshops. In addition to his community work, he enjoys travelling, hiking, sports, and participating in cultural activities.

A K M Jamal Uddin

Jamal Uddin brings a wealth of experience in marine transport and community leadership, having served across Bangladesh, Singapore, and Australia. A Class 1 Marine Engineer from Singapore and Chartered Engineer (CEng, CMarEng, MIMarEST), Jamal currently works at the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA). He holds an MBA from Murdoch University, Australia, complementing his strong technical background with strategic and managerial expertise. Beyond his professional achievements, Jamal is a dedicated sportsman and community advocate who believes in the power of teamwork—both on the field and within the community. As General Secretary of the Bangladesh Association of Brisbane (BAB), he is passionate about uplifting the Bangladeshi community, fostering connections, and creating opportunities for growth and collaboration. Guided by integrity and service, Jamal continues to make a positive impact wherever his journey leads.

I am a mechanical engineer by profession and working in the Australian oil and gas industry. I am a highly passionate sports lover at heart. I regularly play cricket and badminton and have had the privilege of representing the Bangladeshi community in several prestigious cricket tournaments. I look forward as Sports Secretary to creating opportunities for our community to network through sport, build teamwork, and share our passion for active living.

Mahmood A Rashid

Dr. Rashid moved to Australia as a skilled migrant. He earned his Bachelor of Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Bangladesh and a PhD in Computer Science (AI) from Griffith University, followed by a Graduate Certificate in Business Analytics from the University of Queensland (UQ). With over 25 years of experience across academia and industry in Bangladesh, the UK, USA, Fiji, PNG, and Australia, Dr. Rashid brings a wealth of global perspective and technical expertise. As part of the Media & Communications team, he enjoys using his skills to connect people, share stories, and strengthen community ties.
